JUST A LITTLE SOMETHING!

This week at LifeChurch, Lysa Terkuerst was the guest speaker.  I've always loved listening to her because she has been vulnerable about her trials and her life.  It hasn't been rainbows and butterflies.  Her marriage ended in divorce after her spouse was unfaithful, multiple times.  She tried for years to make it work, but it didn't.

She told us what she prayed every morning and I thought it was so good that I wanted to share it with you.

She prays:

Lord,

Let me see you today

Let me hear you today.

Let me know you more today

Let me love you more today.

Today I surrender my outcomes to you.

Help me to trust you with the things you allow in my life.

I surrender my will to you.  Not my will, my desires, but yours.

Lead me to someone to encourage today

Lead me to someone to forgive today

Let me be a light to those around me today (I added that!)

She added that humility is a strength, not a weakness.  And that is always the safe place to be before the Lord.

I loved all that!  I will try and pray it and remember it throughout the day when someone irritates me - I have already forgiven them.  When someone needs some encouragement - that is God bringing them into my path.  Noone is there by accident.  God crosses our paths with certain people intentionally.

I've struggled with resisting God and things He allows in my life.  I've struggled with living life fully surrendered to whatever He wants instead of what I want.  But I'm learning and practicing living surrendered.  I know He is always good, no matter what the outcome looks like.  I know He is always good, no matter what He allows in my life to mold my faith and make me more like Him.  I know He really does work everything out for my good and His glory.  He is true.  He is faithful.  When I let go of trying to control people and circumstances and trust Him, He does great things in my life.

I will start with surrender and open hands every day.  Hold tight to your life with a death grip and lose it.  Live life with open hands to whatever God wants and save it (my very loose translation!).

Hope this encourages you.  You always encourage me.

Love Him.  Love you dearly,

Diana
